Manual › Chapter 02

Getting started

Create your account, install the app on your phone, install the companion on your PC and join a team.

How long it takes to be up and running#

Ten minutes, of which two are spent on your phone and eight waiting for an installer to finish. This chapter lines them up:

  1. Create the account.
  2. Complete the guided first run.
  3. Install the app on your phone and turn on notifications.
  4. Install the companion on your race PC.
  5. Join a team, or create one.

Steps 3, 4 and 5 can wait: the application works without them. Step 1 cannot.

Creating the account#

Go to www.endurancepro.app and open the app. There are two ways in.

With email and password#

Choose Create account and enter your email, a password and a Driver name — the one your teammates will see. A message lands in your inbox straight away: open the link inside it to confirm the address is yours.

With Discord#

Continue with Discord skips the password and the confirmation: you come in with the account you already use. You pick your driver name right after.

The guided first run#

On first launch the app does not drop you on an empty screen: it walks you through four steps. They are the ones that make it work — without a driver profile, the engine that builds crews is guessing.

1. Welcome#

It tells you what it is about to ask and why. Barely two minutes.

2. Your driver profile#

Driver name, iRating, Safety Rating, licence, iRacing Customer ID, nationality, race number, livery colours and training availability.

Only the name is mandatory.

3. The companion and telemetry files#

Before offering you the installer, the app explains in full what the companion does with the .ibt files iRacing writes into Documents\iRacing\telemetry. An explicit tick is required to continue. The detail is in Privacy and data; in short:

  • It reads the files already on your PC, including ones recorded before EndurancePRO existed.
  • If disk recording is off, it turns it on: it changes two entries in iRacing's app.ini (irsdkEnableDisk and irsdkAutoLogDisk), with the simulator closed.
  • The files stay on your PC: they are never uploaded anywhere. Only lap data reaches the platform — times, sectors, fuel, racing line.
  • You clean the folder yourself, whenever you like, choosing how many months back. Nothing is ever deleted automatically, and never files newer than 14 days: Garage 61 and Coach Dave read those same .ibt files.

4. Your team#

Three roads: I have the code (the 8 characters your team manager gives you, instant entry), Find my team (among teams with a public page) or Not yet.

At the end the page tour starts: one screen per section, so you know where things are. If you skip it or want it again, it lives in Profile → Settings → Replay the introduction.

Installing the app on your phone#

EndurancePRO does not go through the app stores: you install it from the browser, and from then on it has its own icon like any other app.

iPhone and iPad#

  1. Open endurancepro.app with Safari (not Chrome).
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom.
  3. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Android#

  1. Open the site with Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen (or Install app).

Computer#

In Chrome or Edge, click the ⊕ (Install) icon in the address bar, or menu ⋮ → Install EndurancePRO.

Turning on notifications#

From the Home tab, section 🔔 Notifications and alarm, tap Enable notifications and reminders. The browser asks for permission: grant it.

The same place has 🚨 Test the alarm, which lets you hear it right away. Do it at least once before your first night race: better to find out now that the volume was low.

Installing the companion#

The companion is the app to keep running on the PC where iRacing runs. The Desktop companion chapter covers what it can do; here is only how to put it there.

  1. From the race PC, open the app and go to Profile → Settings → Companion for your race PC.
  2. Press ⬇ Download the installer.
  3. Run the downloaded file. It is a single installer: it asks nothing.
  4. On first launch there is a single button, Sign in: a window opens on the site, you sign in there with your email or with Discord, and the companion connects itself. Once only.
  5. From then on it lives in the notification area next to the clock and updates itself.

Joining a team#

You can race alone — telemetry, coach, records and the broadcast gallery all work without a squad. But events, crews, stints and alarms live inside a team.

With an invite code#

In the Teams tab, field Invite code: paste the 8 characters and press Join. You are in immediately, as a driver.

By finding a public team#

Also in the Teams tab, Explore public teams. Only teams that have switched on their public page appear; if yours is not there, it is private and you need the code.

If the team accepts applications the button reads Apply: the request waits until an admin answers. Otherwise it reads Invite only.

By creating your own#

Create team, give it a name, and you automatically become admin and owner. The invite code to hand out is in Teams → Management.
